Insula-Dome Skylights Announces the Appointment of Peter Colletta as Controller and Director of Administration

New York and Chester, Connecticut, recently announced that Peter Colletta has joined the company as Controller and Director of Administration. Mr. Colletta brings a proven track record spanning over 18 years in effective financial management and business administration.
Prior to joining Insula-Dome Skylights, Mr. Colletta served as Controller for Instruments for Industry (IFI, Ronkonkoma, NY), a manufacturer of radio frequency wide-band amplifiers. He had been with the company since 1989, promoted to his last role in 1992. During the course of his tenure with IFI, Mr. Colletta developed highly-effective procedures for purchasing, receiving, inventory control, accounts payable and accounts receivable. He was involved in extensive liaison with senior management, banks, lenders and vendors. While at IFI, he was credited with successfully managing the company’s receivables, credit and collections and facilitating its sound fiscal condition. His responsibilities at IFI also encompassed various Human Resources functions, including training initiatives, benefit plan negotiations and trusteeship of the company’s 401(k) plan.
Mr. Colletta received his Bachelor’s of Business Administration in Accounting from Briarcliffe College (Bethpage and
Patchogue, NY), where he maintained a 4.0 GPA. He also holds an Associates Degree in Accounting from Suffolk Community College (Selden, NY). Among his other academic achievements was his 1 st Place award in the New York State Phi Beta Lambda competition titled, “Accounting for Professionals – Financial Concepts” held in Herkimer, New York in April of 2006. In addition, he earned 8 th Place in the National Phi Beta Lambda Leadership Conference held in Nashville, Tennessee in June of 2006.
Mr. Colletta has served in the IRS Certified Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program for tax years 2004, 2005 and 2006. Mr. Colletta resides in Miller Place, NY with his wife, Ann, and their seven children: Amanda, Samantha, Jo-Ann, Maureen, Katherine, Peter and June.

Insula-Dome™ Skylights Responds to the Marketplace – Launches the Long Island Series

Insula-Dome™ Skylights, one of North America’s leading manufacturers of high quality skylights with facilities in Yaphank,
New York and Chester, Connecticut, has once again responded to the needs of the marketplace with the introduction of the Long Island Series. According to Insula-Dome Skylights Regional Sales Manager for Long Island, Upstate New York and New Jersey, David J. Schupp, “We are bringing back some of our most popular sizes with our latest high performance, high quality features at a more affordable price point.”
The Long Island Series includes eleven sizes of venting and fixed models for pitched roofs, each available in either copper flashing or the highly economical, aluminum flashing. They include: 14 x 45, 22 x 22, 22 x 30, 22 x 45, 22 x 60, 22 x 72,
30 x 30, 30 x 45, 30 x 60, 30 x 72, and 45 x 45. Custom sizes are also offered.
The Long Island Series is also offered in the same sizes for flat roofs, available with aluminum flashing.
“Setting the Long Island Series apart from other skylights offered at comparable price points is the leading-edge technology
and performance features incorporated into this very affordable product line,” said Insula-Dome Skylights Director of Sales
and Marketing Peter Kroes.
Among the features offered in the Long Island Series are two options of energy-efficient, Low-E Argon-filled glazing - either Insulator II tempered over tempered or tempered over laminated safety glass, as well as bronze laminated upon request. Also offered is primed wood in paint grade and a drop in curb which is pre-grooved for sheetrock or other materials. Additionally, the Long Island Series features a state-of-the-art interior condensation system which effectively collects and evaporates excess moisture caused by high humidity. Shades provided in light-filtering or room-darkening models are offered to complement the skylights.
In the Long Island Series venting model, Insula-Dome Skylights provides: a specially-designed operator chain for smoother operation, hardware cover to conceal operating hardware, factory-installed screen and shade channels, and welded PVC sash (top) for an optimal, maintenance-free thermal performance. The venting model is available with factory-installed motor system, which also can be obtained through a retrofit kit.
To enhance the operation and performance of its Long Island Series, Insula-Dome Skylights provides a wide range of accessories and motors, including: crank handles, telescoping extension pole, pleated shades, factory-installed motor program and electric motor kits.

Insula-Dome™ Skylights Promotes Barbara Larson to Operations Manager

Insula-Dome™ Skylights, one of North America’s leading manufacturers of high quality skylights with facilities in Yaphank, New York and Chester, Connecticut, recently announcement the promotion of Barbara Larson to Operations Manager. She formerly served as Customer Service Manager. In her new role, Ms. Larson will manage the interaction between the plant manager, shipping and receiving personnel, as well as the Information Technology and customer support groups within the company’s Chester, CT facility. Her role also will encompass liaison with the plant management and shipping personnel in Insula-Dome’s Yaphank, NY office in order to facilitate movement of finished product between the two facilities. Additionally, she will continue to provide customer support for key accounts.
Ms. Larson has a long track record of achievement and career advancement within the skylights industry. In 1995, she joined Roto Frank of America Roof Window manufacturing division ( Chester, CT), which was subsequently acquired by Insula-Dome in 2005. Her first position was a Credit and Collections Representative. Three years later, she was promoted to Customer Service Representative handling inside sales and then, in 2000, was promoted to Assistant Customer Service Manager. At the time of the acquisition, she was named Customer Service Manager, having earned the respect and recognition of the organization’s management team and colleagues as a dedicated, knowledgeable professional capable of maintaining strong, positive relationships with customers and fellow workers alike.
Prior to entering the skylights industry, Ms. Larson served as a Credit and Collections Manager for Clinipad Corporation ( Guilford, CT), a medical supplies manufacturer.
Ms. Larson holds an Associates degree in Business Administration from Middlesex Community College ( Middletown, CT).
She resides with her husband and two children in Ivorytown, CT.
